Planners Fête began in 2010 as a passion project. Sophie Spier, a new mother, desired to reenter the workforce without a full-time commitment. She saw potential in pursuing her dream of becoming a wedding coordinator to create a well-rounded business, earn a stable income, express her creativity, and have a flexible schedule. This led her to establish Amazing Days Events and fully engage in the wedding industry.
However, at the first event industry mixers that she attended, she was disappointed in the cold & seemingly competitive nature of her colleagues often resulting in “mean girl” attitudes and a feeling of isolation….

Fostering Collaboration and Unity
In 2016 Sophie, along with fellow event planner Shelley Eschelman, established a new type of community in Santa Barbara. Through inclusive events and mixers, they aimed to create a warm and supportive environment that encouraged collaboration and unity among professionals, instead of fostering competition. Planners Fête was born.
Over the years, we have produced dozens of events and opportunities for planners to experience new venues, vendors, and to connect with each other in a meaningful, open, relaxed environment.
